AIRPORT SECURITY & X-RAYS
As a professional photographer for over thirty years, I have traveled to every region of this country plus Canada, Mexico and Ireland and successfully navigated countless levels of security. The recent terrorist attacks and resulting military actions have caused our national security to become tighter than ever. Due to this increased security, film is at a greater risk of being damaged by x-ray machines. I have assembled some information, resources, tips and links for getting those images from an assignment, or vacation, home safely. Kodak, Fujifilm and The United States Postal Service have published information on airport security, sterilizing mail and x-ray scanners. The American Society of Media Photographers provided information on FAA restrictions and a list of domestic and foreign professional photo processing labs. If you travel a lot and want to protect your equipment and your film, Kodak suggests you need serious gear. |
